Brisbane Airport - Ground Transportation

Rail

The airport has two railway stations as part of a privately owned airport rail line. The international terminal railway station is elevated and located next to the international terminal, as is the domestic railway station. Both stations are privately owned and operated by the Airtrain consortium. As a result, fares are a bit expensive than a regular suburban ticket however less than half the taxi fare.

 

Airtrain

Provides service between Brisbane airport, Brisbane City and the Gold Coast. It also offers convenient transfers between International and Domestic Terminals (about $5 per person. Kids aged 5-14 travel for free).

Airtrain departs every 15 minutes (peak hours) from 5am to 10pm (weekdays) and from 6am to 10pm (weekends). ç

TransLink

Provides a number of bus services to the airport precinct.

- 369: Mitchelton Rail Station to Toombul interchange. Transfer to the 590 at Toombul.

- 590: Upper Mt Gravatt to Boronia Road and Skygate. 590 now extends through to Toombul but still picks up at Skygate.

 

SEEQ Card

SEEQ provides unlimited 3 or 5 day travel for adults and children across the TransLink network including two journeys on Airtrain services to and from the Brisbane Domestic and International Airport terminals. It also includes over $700 value in offers and discounts to use at more than 80 key tourist attractions, theme parks, accommodation providers and restaurants across the network. Inter-terminal bus

An inter-terminal bus service connects the two terminals and the nearby Skygate shopping precinct, DFO and adjacent Novotel hotel.

 

Approximate transfer times are:

- Skygate to International Terminal: 7min

- International Terminal to Domestic Terminal: 10min

- Domestic Terminal to International Terminal: 10min

 

Taxi

Taxi ranks are available at both International and Domestic Terminals.

- International Terminal: located at the northern end of Arrivals - Level 2.

- Domestic Terminal: located centrally in front of the Terminal.

 

There are two official companies that provides service: Black & White Cabs and Yellow Cab.

From the airport taxis charge a fee of about $3.60. All taxis are metered. To go to Brisbane City Center is about $25.

 

Bus

Con-x-ion Airport Transfers meet every flight arriving into Brisbane Airport 7 days a week, offering one way or return 'door-to-door' coach services from the Airport to/from Brisbane city, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
